Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D., PT is a pioneer of modern yoga in America, having taught since 1971. She holds a doctorate in East-West psychology and is a physical therapist, bringing unique expertise to her teaching. Judith was a founder of Yoga Journal magazine and the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco. She is best known as the mother of Restorative yoga in the West, having studied directly with B.K.S. Iyengar and developed ways to make deep relaxation accessible through supported poses. Her numerous books, including "Relax and Renew," "30 Essential Yoga Poses," and "Yogabody," are considered essential texts in yoga education. Judith has taught yoga anatomy and kinesiology to teachers worldwide for over five decades. At over 75 years old, she continues to lead teacher trainings and workshops, embodying the longevity and sustainability that wise yoga practice offers.
